What is A Blog?
A Blog is a What?
When I first heard the term blog around 5 years ago, I had no idea what a blog is. All I knew was that people were creating them and others were reading them. That dispelled the idea that a blog was something your car got stuck in, in the mud or sand with a slip of the tongue or a couple too many beers.
As a matter of fact it wasn’t until fairly recently that I learned what a blog is and that the word “blog” is sort of a one word abbreviation for a log on the World Wide Web. Hence…. web-log = blog.
Having learned what a blog is and according to all the experts, how effective they are in being so popular with the search engines, I realized that although I’d actually used the very popular blogging platform WordPress to create a static web site under my studies with Mark Ling’s AffiloBluePrint, I really needed to learn how to blog in the true sense of what blogging is all about.
So, this is what I did…..
Being a baby boomer my old mind is probably not as sharp as it once was and I find the idea of teaching an old dog new tricks a little daunting so I find the learning process is a mite slower than it used to be. Any assistance I can get from whatever sources is always gratefully accepted but the combination of several at the same time can be a mite confusing.
There’s a term commonly used among budding internet entrepreneurs called “information overload” and regardless of age, everyone seems to suffer from it at various times during the learning curves.
Therefore I find that if I can find tutorials which combine the use of videos and PDFs from the same source particularly beneficial and easy to follow. However, being able to find these on the net is an education in itself.
While there are quite a few great video tutorials on various aspects of blogging available on U-Tube, a fully comprehensive A-Z with both videos and PDFs by the same author is a rarity and ironically it wasn’t until I joined Alex Jeffreys marketing course that I was able to find what I was looking for right there amongst the fellow members and students.
